High-speed Internet service is available throughout the majority of Smith-Ennismore-Lakefield.   Options of wireless technology are also available in certain areas. 

The Township of Smith-Ennismore-Lakefield acted as the lead applicant for the Rural Connections Phase 2 grant program.  The Township received a $1 million grant to expand broadband services.  The RFP was awarded to Bell Aliant Regional Communications Limited to implement a wireline solution to expand broadband services. Bell Aliant will invest just over $2 million to create a $3 million broadband investment in the County of Peterborough.
